My Story:

I am a career storyteller. I started working as a reporter at a small-town Wisconsin newspaper in 2008. Five years later, I switched into advertising where I learned to apply my narrative skills from a brand perspective. It was the dawn of content marketing, and brands were learning how to be content producers for the first time. My approach to brand content creation versus reporting for a newspaper was no different. Everyone wants to watch, read and share quality content. The same storytelling techniques we use in fiction can be applied to any personal or brand story.

After a big move from the Milwaukee to London, I studied for a year at London Metropolitan University and received an MA in Creative, Digital, and Professional Writing. The program sharpened my narrative skills and reinforced my passion for writing. I was hired by eBay as a global content strategist and moved on to Publicis Sapient as lead content strategist.

Today, I live in Seattle with my British husband and toddler daughter. She loves my stories, too – for now.
